History

Alberto Fabiani is one of the great figures of Italian haute couture of the 1950s and 1960s — an exceptional Roman tailor whose name remains closely associated with the architectural elegance and precise cut that made the reputation of Via Condotti. Trained in the tradition of Italian haute couture, Fabiani established himself as the undisputed master of structured tailoring — clean lines, impeccable construction, a sober and refined Roman elegance that contrasts with Florentine lyricism or Milanese spectacle. Married to designer Simonetta Visconti, Fabiani formed with her one of the most glamorous couples in Italian couture of the 1950s — their respective houses, both located in Rome, dressed the European aristocracy, Hollywood actresses vacationing on the sets of Ben-Hur or La Dolce Vita, and the international jet set. His creations in linen, cotton, and refined wool are absolute benchmarks of classic Italian elegance.
