A dress from the Max Mara Weekend range (Max Mara Group, Reggio d’Emilia, founded in 1951), produced exclusively for the Japanese market — renowned for its exceptionally high standards in textiles. A rare blend of 60% silk and 40% wool: a silky sheen on the surface, with gentle, enveloping warmth. A flowing, straight cut, a feminine V-neck and two discreet pockets. Sleeveless.

60% silk • 40% wool. Made in Italy by the Max Mara Group to the brand’s high standards of excellence. Label marked ‘Only for Japan’ — a rare item on the European market.

History

Founded in Italy in 1951, Max Mara is one of the pioneers and leading figures in high-end European ready-to-wear. The Max Mara Weekend line, launched in 1983, was originally conceived as a collection of chic and casual sportswear for leisure and travel, while maintaining the group's standards of quality, luxurious materials, and tailoring expertise.

Period & Origin

Italy (Max Mara Group, originally from Reggio Emilia), the label bears a specific mention ("Only for Japan") along with the contact details of a Japanese importer, indicating a model produced for the Japanese market, renowned for its high quality standards for this type of silk and wool blend pieces. The typography style of the main label, as well as the font, indicate a production dating from the late 1990s to the early 2000s (a pivotal vintage period for Max Mara).

Status

Very good condition the dress is well-maintained, with no pilling or flaws, and the cashmere and silk are still well-preserved
