Founded in 1965 in Ponzano Veneto by Luciano Benetton and his siblings, the Benetton fashion house revolutionized the fashion landscape with a vision as simple as it was radical—colorful, accessible, high-quality knitwear for everyone. In just a few years, the brand became a global phenomenon, a symbol of the creative and industrious Italy of the 1970s and 1980s. In 1982, the launch of the "United Colors of Benetton" line marked a turning point: the brand openly embraced diversity, color, and universality as its founding values. The advertising campaigns by Oliviero Toscani—provocative, colorful, and socially engaged—made Benetton one of the most recognized and debated labels of its time.
